My work explores how we tune our hearing to certain sounds rather than others. In my installations I use ambient sounds that are taken from environments where sound enters one space from another, for example street sounds entering buildings through windows. These installations are subtle as the sounds are sometimes hidden in the walls of the gallery space. I am interested in how sound moves in and out of private and public spaces and how we choose to listen to some sounds and ignore others.
